The original bath and shower were installed to cinderblock, a low soffit was removed to expand the height of the space. The client chose handmade look-a-like wall tile and had a custom color terrazzo tile manufactured for the floor. Ardex Flexbone Heat was used for under floor heating. The original cast iron tub was refinished after tile installation. A custom niche added to the partition wall. All termination points were finished with color matching pencil quarter round tile. The glass for the shower doors were installed using a metal track that traversed the partition wall to the tub top. This allows the glass to be installed without the use of hardware. It is a safer way to protect the waterproofing qualities of the install and also gives the appearance of glass protruding directly out of the tile.
