Outdoor Kitchen
This outdoor kitchen was designed and built by a general contractor. Firstly, the appliances, cabinets, sink, bbq and fixtures were selected to help define the space. The skeleton frame was built with metal upon pressure treated lumber to assist in shedding water. My first task was to skin the entire structure with a suitable tile backer board then waterproof it. The layout was challenging due to open spaces, bar height and a sloped slab. I assisted in selecting trim and decided to use a Schluter edge profile designed for countertops for a durable and masculine feel. Large format rectified porcelain tile was installed on the countertops and back wall. For the lower sections a porcelain stone-look-a-like tile was used. Keisel grout was used to ensure a long lasting and durable finish.
